Inspired by Chuck Palahniuk's novel, Invisible Monsters. It was the first of his I read and to this day still my favorite.
Mediums: Acrylic Paint for "give me"; sharpie for "rampant intellectualism as a coping" and watercolor for "mechanism" as well as the background.
Excerpt from Chapter One:
Most of my adult life so far has been me standing on seamless paper for a raft of bucks per hour, wearing clothes and shoes, my hair done and some famous fashion photographer telling me how to feel.
Him yelling, Give me lust, baby.
Flash.
Give me malice.
Flash.
Give me detached existentialist ennui.
Flash.
Give me rampant intellectualism as a coping mechanism.
Chuck Palahniuk some how seems to capture modern existence quite well. I'm sure several years from now, when someone wonders what it was like to live right here and right now, someone will say, "Read Fight Club, or Read Choke, or Invisible Monster." He's a marvel.
And come to look, I have Invisible Monsters sitting on my shelf. That'll have to be bumped up to right after Leonard Cohen's book... Uh. I can't remember. But yeah. They will both be read.
I love it. Great design and best book ever. Last time I read it, I had it under my desk in English class and had to read it out loud to everyone sitting around me. Probably one of my favourite parts.

My English Lit teacher from high school and I used to discuss Palahniuk all the time. He was the only person I knew in my entire high school to have read his works.
First book of his I ever read too, and come to think of it, the first time I finished it, it felt like the only book I've ever read. Nothing compares to him, it's strange and amazing at the same time. At any rate, Rant is my favorite of his.

The butter legion- a socialist movement/mass colab project I started, to trigger artistic change and evolution in Da artists (mainly my watchers), to make them more active and dedicated on DA. Now 170 people strong and growing... A "dangerous cult"? a "new religion"? "artistic version of fight club" or "communist movement"? You decide!
Hello there! This news article is the result of a thumb share thread I posted few days ago on the dA forum along with pictures from my favorites. I hope you enjoy them.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
